Trello

I really enjoyed learning about several of the tools in last weeks readings/tools for EME6414, especially Hypothes. Similarly, this week I was introduced to Trello for the first time. I found this platform to be overall fairly appealing to the eye and very intuitive to use. As I looked at it the platform seems like it could be used in a variety of settings, such as the workspace, as it is primarily designed to create collaborative lists of content. For EME6414 in an instructional setting our class focused on the lists corresponding to certain questions to answer. Responses to lists are referred to as cards in Trello and each card came to be class answers to the questions asked at the top of the list. However, I could definitely imagine uses far beyond this question/answer format.

As I'm thinking of how I might use this in a collaborative educational setting beyond the Q/A format it seems that it would be particularly well suited for group projects where there are a list of tasks that need to be completed with everyone providing feedback on what they have done in helping to accomplish individual tasks but also comments on ways to improve that list item.

Another great feature is the ability to drag items between lists, as is seen in the example here

The example given shows how Trello is envisioning their platform being used for a work setting or group projects. This becomes even more evident when you look at some of the additional features you could get with the premium version such as this view here:

ultimately, I think the free version is all you really need to help facilitate collaboration in basic classroom settings, although I could see how on extensive group projects the collaborative tools Trello provides could be helpful as well.
